The fall season has been filled with opportunities for adults in Vanguard Recreation Services (VRS) to connect, have fun and build independence.

Adult participants gathered for a VRS picnic, enjoying an afternoon of good food, good company, and time together to take in the outdoors. September also included a VRS Adult Retreat to Wildwood, New Jersey, where participants took trips to the beach, arcade, and visited the Cape May County Zoo.

Alongside the fun, the group practiced independent living routines every day to keep building their confidence and independence levels. It’s all part of creating meaningful opportunities for adults to socialize with staff and peers, try new experiences, and continue growing as people who want to live life to its fullest.
